Mentoring Opportunities
Mentoring opportunities offer an excellent way for Oregon Law students to network and learn from practicing and non-practicing Oregon Law alumni. Oregon Law is proud that so many of its alumni keep in touch and help students transition from the classroom to the office.
Alumni may participate in numerous ways with limited time commitment, including signing up for the LSAA's Just Java program or attending one of the association's informal social events to meet with students.
Participating in the Just Java program allows law students visiting your city the opportunity to speak with a current lawyer over coffee or lunch in order to learn more about your city and areas of practice. Participants will respond to and meet with a student while they are in town. A rotating list assures that no single alum will be responsible for responding to all student inquiries.
Additionally, the mentorship program hosts a variety of social gatherings for alumni to come together and meet with students on an informal basis. Events are typically held once in the fall, once in the spring, and monthly throughout the summer while many students are completing internships in the Portland area.
