The Class of 1975 Scholarship
Back in the early 1970s, the people of the state of Oregon primarily funded our professional education. For the Class of 1975, the final year of our education cost $1,050 for both in-state and out-of-state students.
Today, taxpayer support of our public institution has all but evaporated, so that current law school tuition at the University of Oregon is $24,114 for in-state students and $30,043 for out-of-state residents. And while student loans have become major-league burdens, jobs have become significantly less plentiful.
The Steering Committee members of the Class of 1975 would like to do something about this. If each of us "repaid" a portion of our subsidy by pledging the 1974-75 amount of $1,050 a year for three years to a new endowed scholarship, we could raise nearly $350,000 for this project. While we know that, at that rate, 100% participation is highly unlikely, we ask that you consider making whatever contribution you're comfortable with.
Please join us.
You can also donate through the reunion registration page. |
