In 1985, the cost of a year of legal education at the University of Oregon was
$2,704 for in-state residents and $3,952 for out-of-state students.
This fall, in-state Oregon Law students will pay a whopping $24,114 for the 2010-2011 school year. Out-of-state
students will pay $30,113. These figures do not include the
cost of living, books, bar exam study materials or other expenses. Added to this is the fact
that only 8.5% of the University of Oregon's budget is provided by the
State of Oregon. The law school is essentially operating as a private
institution with a public mandate and mission. Thus, the law school and its students need your support more
than ever. Class of 1985 ScholarshipThe Class of 1985 is one of a handful of classes that has combined the efforts of its members to assist students with the rising cost of education. In 2005, the Class of 1985 established the "Class of 1985 Memorial Endowed Scholarship." Its purpose is to "honor the memory of any and all deceased members of the law school class of '85, to benefit law school students." To date, this honors Sam Adams, James Britton, James Gentile and Yeshia Gelrod. To date, seventeen members of the class have contributed or pledged to contribute at least $49,840 to the fund. Since the fall of 2008, the Class of 1985 Scholarship has been award awarded to a law student. Below are profiles of the first two recipients. The profile of the 2010-2011 recipient, Timothy Cedar, will be up soon. Timothy will join the Class of 1985 at its reunion dinner on Oct. 1-3, 2010. | 2008-2009 | 2009-2010 | Colin Love-Geiger

Memory BookletWant to be included in the Class of 1985's Reunion Memory Booklet? Tell your classmates what you have been up to since graduation. Have you had children? Grandchildren? Tell us about your life and we'll publish it in an on-line booklet. Click here to see examples from other years.
*You will need to log in to do so. If you've never logged in, email Jay Klein at jklein@uoregon.edu for your "Ben ID" first time login number.
Missing Classmates
Over the course of the reunion invitation process, the law school inevitably discovers that it loses touch with a small percentage of the members of your class. Check back in couple of months and we'll have a list of "lost" or "missing" classmates.
