Class Gift The Class of 1970 ScholarshipIn 1970, the total cost of a three-year legal education at the
University of Oregon was only $1,344 both for in-state and
out-of-state residents. The current cost of one year of education is $24,114 for in-state students and $30,043. This figure doesn't
include the cost of living, books, bar exam study materials or other
expenses. The Class of 1970 would like to endow its own scholarship: "The Class of 1970 Scholarship." It would take only 17 commitments of $500/yr. for three years to achieve the minimum $25,000 level, and we get 5 years complete this task. With 49 members of our class, we feel this is a worthwhile and attainable goal. In fact, some of us are sufficiently committed to this goal to make a $1,000/yr. commitment. Should we not reach our goal within five years, the funds will be redirected to the " Lois and Ray Ackerman General Scholarship Fund." The Class of 1969 endowed its scholarship last year using the same approach. Let's do the same! You can also donate through the reunion registration page. |
