The event is a memorial run in remembrance of Thomas Foster III, who was a third-year law student at the time of his death in 1999. Proceeds from the race benefit the Tom Foster Scholarship Fund at Oregon Law.
Awards will be presented for the first male, female, and masters winners. Ribbons will be presented to first, second, and third place finishers in each age division. Random prize drawings, including and refreshments also will be provided.
The Duck Dash is sponsored by Oregon Law and the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation ("JELL"). JELL is a student-published law review journal that provides a national, unbiased forum for the discussion of new ideas and theories in environmental and natural resources law.
Race entry fee is $20 before October 29 ($15 without long-sleeve t-shirt), and $25 from October 30 through race day ($20 without long-sleeve t-shirt). Race day registration will be available.
