CLE: Oregon's New Civil Rights Laws -- Are you ready?
On January 1, 2008, the
Oregon Equality Act (Senate Bill 2) took effect. The Oregon
Equality Act creates a comprehensive, statewide anti-discrimination law
outlawing discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
Oregonians in housing, employment, and public accommodation.
Despite a temporary
restraining order issued by a federal judge on December 28, the Oregon Family Fairness Act (House Bill
2007) could take effect in early February. The Oregon Family Fairness Act
provides legal recognition for same-sex couples and their families through
Domestic Partnerships.
Learn what these new laws
mean for your clients and get the latest on the prospects for the Oregon Family
Fairness Act. Attorneys practicing family law, estate planning, elder law,
employment law and civil rights law are encouraged to attend.
MCLE accreditation is pending (3 general credits).
This CLE is sponsored by: Basic Rights Education Fund, U of O School of Law
Outlaws, Oregon Gay & Lesbian Law Association (OGALLA), and ACLU of
