Growing a Green Economy: Perspectives from Law and Business

On Friday April 3, 2009, students from the University of Oregon School of Law and the Lundquist College of Business will host this year’s Sustainable Business Symposium: “Growing a Green Economy: Perspectives from Law and Business.”  This one-day event is designed to capture the dynamic energy around sustainability in the Pacific Northwest and to discuss how legal frameworks can support the entrepreneurs who are changing how we interact with the environment.  OLR will publish an accompanying symposium issue in Fall 2009.  Click here for a detailed schedule.

The event will be held at the newly-renovated White Stag building in downtown Portland and will feature a keynote speaker, lunch and four forward-looking panel discussions on topics such as climate and energy policy in the next presidential administration, green building, meeting Oregon’s renewable portfolio standard and how businesses can convert risk into opportunity to meet the needs of our growing green economy.

Cost of the event is as follows:
$100 for attorneys wanting CLE credit
$50 for general public
Free for students, faculty and government employees (with ID)
